Vaccination work as of 3/5/21:
- Faribault County: 2,975 individuals have received at least their first vaccination for COVID-19. 18% of the total population has received at least 1 dose. We doubled the percentage of population over age 65 in Faribault County who received their 1st dose of vaccine from 33.4% on 2/28/21 to 63.6% on 3/5/2021.
- Martin County: 4,391 individuals have received at least their first vaccination for COVID-19. 18% of the population has received at least 1 dose. 35% of the population of people age 65+ have received vaccinations. We almost doubled the percentage of population over age 65 in Martin County who received their 1st dose of vaccine from 35% on 2/28/21 to 64.3% on 3/5/2021.
- Community Health & Human Services received 300 1st doses last week and distributed 270 by 3/5/2021. The remaining 30 doses were distributed on 3/9/2021.
- Mayo Clinic Health System Fairmont received 445 1st doses last week and distributed all by 3/5/2021.
- United Hospital District received 300 1st doses last week and distributed all by 3/5/2021.
- Dulcimer Medical Center received no 1st doses last week however were focusing on distributed 300 2nd doses to patients.
We are excited to announce beginning today (3/10/21) vaccine providers can begin moving into the next two priority groups for providing COVID-19 vaccinations.

We will be reaching out to schedule appointments in the order in which interest is received and based on our vaccine availability. Please note, our agency is not scheduled to receive any new doses of vaccine this week.
Priority has expanded to include the following groups of people starting 3/10/21:
- -People with specific underlying health conditions: Sickle cell disease, Down Syndrome, or oxygen-dependent chronic lung or heart conditions, and those who are in active cancer treatment or immunocompromised from organ transplant
- Food processing plants employees
- People with rare conditions or disabilities that put them at higher risk
Once those priority groups have had an opportunity to receive their vaccine, providers will immediately begin offering appointments to:
- People age 45 and older with ONE or more underlying medical conditions; or, age 16 and over with TWO or more underlying medical conditions (Active cancer, Chronic kidney disease COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), Diabetes - Type 1 or 2, Down Syndrome, Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies, Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplant, HIV, bone marrow disease, chronic steroids for more than 30 days, immunodeficiency disease, or taking immunosuppressive medications, Obesity - body mass index (BMI) greater than 30 kg/m2, Pregnancy, Sickle cell disease)
- People 50+ in multi-generational housing
- Essential frontline workers from the following sectors: Agricultural, airport staff, additional child care workers not previously eligible, correctional settings, first responders, food production, food retail, food service, judicial system workers, manufacturing, public health workers, public transit, Postal Service workers
Vaccine appointments are still available for the following priority groups:
- Minnesotans aged 65 or older
- Health care workers and people working at health care facilities, first responders who provide direct patient care as part of the EMS system, and primary caregivers for people with complex medical needs or disabilities
- Long-term care residents and staff members at long-term care facilities in Minnesota
- Pre-kindergarten through Adult Basic and Community Education school staff members, or contracted school staff members, at schools in Minnesota
- Child care staff members at licensed and certified child care centers or programs in Minnesota
