What is it? LSC is a program implemented by Faribault & Martin
Counties. It is intended to operate one weekend, Friday to Sunday, every
two months. The weekend consists primarily of supervised work activities
but also includes group decision-making discussions, journaling, reflection
on what behaviors are causing the problem(s), physical activity,
environmental education and other topics. The weekend is intended to be a
consequence for some misbehavior – a response intended to deter future
misbehavior. More importantly, it is an opportunity for kids to reflect on

School Social Worker This weekend work program is designed to help… KIDS! Avoid
out-of-home placements, failure in school and conflict at home by holding
them accountable for their actions. PARENTS Support and assistance
for enforcing rules and consequences. SCHOOLS A response for kids who
are habitually truant; for kids who continue to skip school in spite of
other interventions. PROBATION AGENTS/SOCIAL WORKERS A means to respond to violations of a probations
contract or case plan.
