Public Health Nurse

Are you looking for a rewarding nursing career that offers variety and the ability to work within the community? In this Public Health Nursing role, you’ll work directly with families through our maternal child health and Healthy Families America Home Visiting Program. Visit with families in their homes to provide support in establishing positive home environments, promote strong attachments through the parent-child relationships, and encourage the well-being of children and families through regular developmental screenings, support with health and medical needs, and by encouraging social and emotional development.  Nurses support parents in finding ways to cope with stressful situations in their lives and links families with supportive community resources.  This role will also support disease prevention and control in our communities by working to support vaccination efforts and respond to cases of infectious diseases within our community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with our most vulnerable populations to support health and vitality.

Minimum Qualifications:  Certification as a public health nurse in Minnesota and current licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly valued.

Family Preservation Case Manager

Come join our Family Preservation Unit in Child Protection Services!  The ideal candidate will have high levels of compassion, empathy, and integrity, as well as a passion for working with and supporting families who are in crisis.  This position emphasizes preserving family structure, and the ideal candidate will work collaboratively with families, as well as with other professionals both inside and outside the agency to support the families they serve.  Candidates will thrive in a fast paced and ever-changing work environment and will hone their interviewing, assessment, and rapport-building skills.  At Human Services of Faribault & Martin Counties, we strive to provide the best quality services for all of the families with whom we work.  We currently have a vacancy in our Faribault County Human Services Center (Blue Earth, MN).

Minimum Qualifications:  A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social work, psychology, sociology or closely related field.  OR A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in any field and one year of experience as a social worker in a public or private social services agency.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly valued.

Eligibility Worker

Position involves interviewing clients to accurately record and process applications for determining eligibility for programs; interpreting and implementing policy.  The ongoing caseload is monitored and maintained to ensure timely and accurate benefits.  Case documentation is written in a clear and complete manner to reflect pertinent case information.  Work is completed in various state and local computer systems. 

Minimum Qualifications:  Three years of clerical experience or experience working with the public, or some combination of the two, totaling three years OR two years of clerical experience in a human services agency.  College coursework may be substituted for experience.  Must pass examination. 

Entry Salary 2024 is $22.37/hour with Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. office hours.  Current vacancy is located in the Martin County Human Services Center (Fairmont, MN).  Application due by February 5, test by February 8.
